@From November 13 to November 15, 2012 the workshop "GISAS2012" will be held in Kyoto Japan as a continuation of GISAS 2009, which was held at DESY, Hamburg, for the first time as a satellite conference to the SAS, SAS2009(Oxford) and with a great success. GISAS2012 is planned as a satellite conference to the SAS2012 (SAS XV), Sydney, Australia. This workshop brings together different communities working in the field of thin films, nanostructures, surfaces and interfaces comprising of soft matters, hard matters and both, to gain insights into the very powerful method of grazing incidence small angle X-ray scattering. In invited lectures the possibilities and new trends in GISAXS will be highlighted.
Topics includes, but not limited to,

Polymer films and soft matter layers
Semiconducting and metallic/magnetic nanostructures
Lipids and bio-inspired complex systems
Growth and/or destruction kinetics of nanostructures on substrates
Top-down structures of hard materials
Self-organized structures at and near the surfaces and interfaces
Use of coherence for thin materials
Utilizing spin-sensitive probes and soft X-rays for GISAXS
Phase transitions in confined films

The organizing members cordially welcome you all GI-small-angle-scatterers to Kyoto.
